Jonathan Toups
CEO
Jonathan Toups joined K9 Second Line in 2016 as a team member to help occupy his daytime between running before
and after-school programming in New Orleans. He soon became an invaluable team member and client favorite for his
reliability and dedication to the pets, and for the entertaining notes he left.
Jonathan’s parents met and started the family in New Orleans, but he was born and raised in Atlanta.
He returned to his ancestral birthright in 2013 after living in Indiana (where he attended the University of Notre Dame),
Austria, Chicago, South Korea, and California. Most evenings and weekends you can find Jonathan surrounded by his friends
on the kickball fields, where he is heavily involved in various local and travelling leagues.
Brendan Minard, founded K9 Second Line in 2011 as a senior at Loyola University in an effort to actively use his business
degree and his love of dogs into one pursuit. Brendan has grown K9 Second Line from a solo operation to a large team
servicing the entire New Orleans Metro area between the river and the lake.
Originally from Upstate New York, Brendan has an interesting perspective towards pet care. When he was a teenager,
his first job was working on a dairy farm milking cows, bailing hay and tending to the myriad of animals that lived
on the farm. He also grew up with a wonderful Lab named Axel (named after Axel Rose). As an avid lover, it made sense to
start a dog walking company in New Orleans, when only 2 companies existed that provided mobile pet services.
When not running K9 Second Line, Brendan loves spending time with his son, Dylan and wife, Erika. He also enjoys fishing,
playing recreational soccer and scuba diving. Brendan is also an active member in Business Networking International (BNI),
a graduate of the 10,000 Small Business Program and The IDEAx program with the Idea Village.

I have worked with K9 Second Line for over 5 years. Growing up I loved going to my aunt and uncle's farm and playing with the animals there. Having beloved dogs while younger and always having cats, I enjoy getting to know those in the K9 Krewe. As friends and family know, I am just as likely to show off pictures and stories about dogs and cats I take care of as I am to talk about my own two cats, Luna and Gouda. It is a joy to help care for the fur kids.
K9 Second Line prides itself on its professional and dedicated team. Each K9 team member undergoes a rigorous interview and training process, as it is critical that each team member is capable of providing the best care possible to your pets. Our hiring process includes a federal criminal background check and non-disclosure and employment agreements to ensure client confidentiality and industry professionalism. K9 Second Line provides ongoing professional development, including training, leadership, and career opportunities to team members. Additionally, K9 team members are covered under the company's insurance and bonding through Business Insurers of the Carolinas, and K9 Second Line is a member of Pet Sitters International.
